Today, Urban Neighbors representatives attended an Embark public listening session about the transit agency’s efforts to simplify its fare system in the lead up to the implementation of the streetcar, now under construction in our downtown neighborhoods. If you didn’t have a chance to attend one of the sessions, please consider taking this brief fare study survey. Even if you aren’t presently a transit user (though you should be), odds are in the next few years you will be, so this public input could directly impact you!

Neighbors, it’s an exciting time in Downtown OKC with the streetcar construction underway. Your UN representatives attended the Downtown BID (business improvement district) Board meeting last week, and we learned that by this time next year (April 2018, construction delays notwithstanding), you’ll see streetcar vehicles making test runs on the Bricktown loop. We also learned that the city is providing an excellent way get weekly updates on construction progress. If you’d like to know exactly when roads will be closed, sign up for this mailing list to get those updates and plan your daily commute around that pesky traffic!
